The Wasatch Front Police K9 Association (also known as Multi-Agency K9) began back in 1997, when individual handlers from law enforcment organizations within Salt Lake County came together and formed a collective group.
The group began training and deploying together in efforts to improve service throughout the county. Today, our core member agencies include: Cottonwood Heights Police, Draper City Police, Midvale City Police, Murray City Police, Sandy Police, South Jordan Police, South Salt Lake Police, Taylorsville Police, West Jordan Police, and West Valley Police.
Allied agencies include the Salt Lake City Police Department, the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department, and the Utah Highway Patrol.
This unprecedented combination brings the strength of over twenty dog teams who train together and deploy together. Multi-Agency K9 handlers meet on a weekly basis for training, and are called for service multiple times each week. This combined effort improves the overall quality of each dog team, provides essential resources to critical incidents, and increases the safety of the citizens in the communities we serve.
